Most people don't think about their AC until it stops working. By that point, what could have been a simple tune-up has turned into something much more serious - and much more expensive. That's exactly the kind of situation we want to help you avoid.

Here's what we're dealing with on a system that hadn't seen regular maintenance. The top of the unit was packed with leaves and debris sitting right at the base of the condenser coils. That buildup doesn't just look bad - it suffocates airflow, forces the system to work harder, and puts real stress on every component inside. Left alone long enough, it kills the compressor.

Speaking of the compressor - that's what we ended up replacing on this one. You can see the old unit pulled out and sitting on the ground next to the new one coming out of the box. A compressor swap is one of the bigger repairs we do. It's not cheap, and it's almost always preventable with routine AC tune-up and maintenance visits that catch warning signs early.

Then there's the filter situation. Both filters we pulled were completely choked with dust and grime - so packed that almost no air could pass through. A blocked filter doesn't just hurt air quality. It makes the whole system strain to pull air, which drives up energy bills and wears out components faster. This is one of the easiest things to stay on top of, and one of the most commonly ignored.

The bottom line is simple. Small maintenance issues - a dirty filter, debris buildup, a component running outside normal ranges - don't stay small forever. Our AC repair and troubleshooting process is designed to catch these things before they turn into a full system failure. Regular check-ins on your system go a long way toward keeping it running reliably when you need it most.
